ESVC-JUNIOR challenges students to use scientific know-how, creative thinking, experimentation and teamwork to design and build high-performance solar electric vehicles. Students learn by doing.
Transportation in the India is expected to change radically in response to environmental constraints, fluctuating oil availability and economic factors. The transportation systems that emerge in the 21st century will be defined largely by the choices, skills and imagination of today’s youth.
As scientists and engineers, they will develop new vehicle and fuel technologies. As citizens, they will make decisions balancing mobility, environmental and economic needs.
Building solar- and battery-powered cars requires skills in both math and science. The goals of the competition include: Generating enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering, and maths , Improving students’ understanding of scientific concepts and renewable energy technologies & encouraging young people to consider technical careers at an early age.
(ISIE Official Supplier) will provide the kits to the teams participating in the event. Kit will include Solar cells, a large sheet of carbon Fiber, brushless motor and speed controller, and much more. Teams require only basic tools and adult supervision – but this is also a perfect opportunity to utilise advanced fabrication techniques with faculty guidance at school level itself.
ISIEINDIA Skill Development Cell will provide training on exclusively design & development online module to the participants of the event. Online module will guide teams through the basic concept of designing, building, testing and racing. This multimedia course is supportive for the team members and also for the teacher or team leader who may also be working with these technologies for the first time.
A video describing the ESVC-JUNIOR which includes footage of actual races and ISIE Mentors discussing the design and construction of their vehicles can be viewed. ISIEINDIA will serve registered team’s Teacher adviser and provide technical assistance and free teacher materials. Students learn by doing.
